Morris succeeds Cory Bird, President of Scaled Composites since 2019, who is retiring after 38 years at the company. Starting at Scaled Composites as a Fabricator in 1985, Bird has held many roles at all levels prior to becoming President, including Program Management, Bids & Proposals, Engineering, and Executive Vice President/General Manager – all while taking part in many unique programs including White Knight, SpaceShipOne, and the Stars & Stripes sail.
“I’ve enjoyed my time at Scaled Composites: working with Burt Rutan for 25 years, how the company has supported growth within, and learning the entire time. I’m grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to lead the company as President for the past 4 years.” Says Bird. “I’m looking forward to relaxing in retirement; traveling and reconnecting with family and friends.”
