Scaled was established on the outskirts of civilization so we could have privacy to test our vehicles, the rent was cost-effective, and when you don't have distractions you can stay focused. Not to mention the weather is amenable to year-round testing, a big selling point when your core business involves flight test! The perks of this location is we're centrally located to a variety of activities, perfect for taking advantage of those long-weekends offered by our 9/80 work schedule.

The Subsystems Engineer is responsible for fleshing out an initial requirement and translating that into a design that meshes with the overall aircraft goals. This means conceptualizing a solution, negotiating detailed requirements, performing detailed design and analysis, developing definition (models, drawings, schematics, work instructions), supervising fabrication and installation, defining and performing operational tests, and ultimately, acting as a system subject matter expert as the vehicle moves into integrated tests and flight.
