The GlobalFlyer is a single seat, turbofan powered airplane designed by Scaled to fly around the world nonstop, unrefueled, with a solo pilot. It achieved this milestone for the first time on March 3, 2005 after 67 hours and one minute of flying time. With that, Pilot Steve Fossett set the record for fastest time around the world unrefueled. The GlobalFlyer eventually made two more successful solo nonstop flights around the world, and it is now on display at the National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center.
